This year’s race will be a qualifier for the US National team for the February World Championships in France.
The Race division will have 5000’ of climbing and the recreation division will have 3000’ of climbing. All racers must have the following items to compete:
- All racers must wear a helmet
- Beacon operating in the 457 MHz frequency.
- An avalanche probe of at least 190 centimeters. Probe poles are acceptable.
- Safety straps or ski leashes as required in the ski areas.
- Climbing skins.
- A commercially-made snow shovel.
- Wind breaker jacket

Men’s & Women’s Race Division: Racers with AT gear set-up, will race the longer course with 5000' of climbing
Men’s & Women’s Heavy Metal Division: Racers who don't have AT gear and use a Telemark bindings and or skis set-up. Race on the longer course with 5000' of climbing
Men’s & Women’s Recreation Division: Racers new to Ski mountaineering races with any gear set-up, the course will be a shorter race with 3000' of climbing
